First Meeting of New Committee The first montlily meeting of the newly-elected executive committee of the Napier Sub-Centre of the Red. Cross Society was held on .Tuesday evening, when Mr A. E. Bedford presided over a good attendance of members. It .was reported that two cases of match-folders had been received from Mr G. Husheer for use in collection boxes abqut the town. Arrangemenfis have been made ior forwarding to the International Red Gross Bazaar at tiondon of two dozen jars of honey, and certain articles made by St. Joseph's Maori Girls' Convent and a Maori patient of the Napier Hospital has been forwarded to the Bazaar. A letier was received from the Wellington centre advising of appreciative reference in Wellington to the • Red Cross outfit at the Waikare Hotel. The depot committee reported that sjnce the previous meeting 42 appbcar tions had been dealt. with and 152 garments, six paifs of blankets and sevett pairs of boots issued, A muchappreciated parcel of made up clothing had been received from the Rissington branch of the Women's Institute. The nurse.V repjort showed that there were now 237 scholars attending the various Red Cross classes in various schools and that arangements had been made for the junior circles to raise funds to provide an invalid chair. The committee also reported that the Collins Cup competition was to be held at Palmerston North on August 7. The meeting concluded with a discussion of general business.
