WELLINGTON, Last Night* Plans for the development of the Newy Zealand tobacco industry and tlie activities of the Tobacco Board ' Wero discussed by the Minister of Industries and Comnlerce (Hon. D. G. Sul'/vaa) in an interview this evening. Both the Government and the board, he said, were working steadily toward the betterment of the industry. The first essentials in the scheme being evolved were research into the dlsfcnses affecting tobacco leaf, payment of wages that jwould give the workers in the industry ,a reasonable standard of living, and jfixation of prices that Would provide jgrowers with a fair return for their ,labours. 1 ^ lit
