Considerable Damage Reported

AUCKLAND, May 14. Considerable damage was caused by a storm last night and early this morning. A small bridge at Waitoki, between Dairy Flat and Kaukapakapaka, North Auckland, was swept away in the night, and nortlxern rqads are flooded to an uncomfortable depth; the water is continuing to rise near Helensville. The damage in the city is confined to broken windows and the flooding of gardens and parks. The 22ft. yacht Melita, owned by Mr. Alec Donald, Junr., of Takapuna, broke her moorings off Bayswater during the night and drifted to the Queen's Wharf on the city side of the harbour, where she was found undamaged. These enclude "March of Timo, No 2," "Mickey's Rival," the latest Mickey Mouse in technicolour, and variety and air-mail news. The Hibermans' night or run will be held in the Oddfellows' Hall on Tuesday, May 18. Good prizes are offered and Gordon Redward will supply the music. Cards and dancing will be provided.
