CORONATION CEREMONY
Havelock North's Part That the Coronation celebrataons in Havelock North had been most successful was reported by the clerk, Mr W. H. Anderson, at the monthly meeting of the Havelock North Town Board, held last evening. The School Committee, Athletic Club and Havelock North Town Board combined to give the children at the school a /treat by which to xemember the Coronation. A cake provided by the committeo "was distributed to the children at school on Tuesday, and on Wednesday a celebration was held at the school at which the Eev. E. B. Waugh . gave an address. Eaclx child received a souvenir bntton, half a pound of sweets and the sum of sixpence, and at the conclusion of the ceremony sports were held on the village domain. The Town Board Hall was decorated for the Coronation, and coloured lights were arranged across the streets in several places. The usual donation of £5 to the school dental clinic was approved, but the matter of contributing to the King George Y. Memorial Fund was again deferred. It was decided to open a subecription list in the meantime.
