THEATRE FOR NAPIER
Deputation to Ask Mayor for Details FEEUNG OF UNREST Although several Napier organisations have from time to time petitioned the Napier Borough Council to make adequate provision for a theatre ot pubfcic hall in Napier, there has been little forward move made, and a feeling of unrest is growing. It is understood that one organisation has couched its request for action in the form of an application for the first night 's performance at the ' theatre, but, apart from an announcement by the Mayor, Mr. C. O. Morse, that a theatre would open in Napier very, shortly, there has been no sign of ac? tivity. It is now understood that a large deputation, coaiposed of representatives of most of the sporting and dramatic societies of the town whqm the lack of a suitable building is seriously hampering, will wait on the Mayor and councillors, probably next week, and ask what has been done. Mr. Morse will be asked to formulate a definite plan or to give some indication of when the theatre will be available.
