• • \ MANCHESTER. — The annual report of the committee of management of the Manchester and Salford Trustees Savings Bank .reflects marked growth in the habit of thrift in this district. During the year 18,388 new accounts were opened — 757 mtire than last year. Manual- workers opened 7376 of these new accounts, clerks and warehousemen 5303, shopkeepers 1044, and widows and persons of no occupation 4665, this figure including also children 's accounts. Home safes numberlng 8612 were issued during the year, and £112,264 was. paid into the bank from safes brought in.
