WESTPORT, This D^y. Rohert Seymour Newes, aged aboufc 40, married, was drowned in the Buller River this morning. He was emplQ^ed by the Marine Department and waa instructed to prepare a launch for a sounding operation. Some time later, officials arrived and found the engine running, but there was no sign of Newes. » . After a search, dragging operations were commenced apd the. bo'dy was recovered nearby.
