£1,190.000 Scheme For Development

AUCKLAND, Last Night. Three major works, estimated to cost a total of £1,190,000, were recommended by the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. C. G. Macindoe, in a report on a "logical and proper programme of development for the port of Auckland during the next decade or longer," presented at yesterday 's mceting of the boafd. These works were: An export whaTf, £483,000; special accommodation for passenger and tourist vessels, £275,000; and completion ^of the development oif the eastern waterfront, £432,000. The report suggested a bill be presented to Parliament next session to empower the board to borrow £1,000,000. i '
