B.M.S. .Evening 1 A short timo ago the singing group of the British Mueic Society held a most enjoyable and interestipg evening at the home of Mrs Steele, Soutbland road. Tke subject for the evening comprised the musicaf compositious of Mozart, upon which Miss Steele gave a mopt comprehensive discourse, divided iuto threc parts, chambet mueic, ecclesiastical music, operatic uiusic and symphonies, . The following programme *of vocal and instrumental items wus given in illustration:— - Chamber music.: — "A Little Nlght Music," for strings (record); "The Violet," sung by Mies Boshier; Concerto for harp and Aute (record); Theme with Variations, piauoforte duet, played by Mrs G, Roach ahd Miss Stqeie. * Bcclesiastical music. — "Gloria" from 12th Masg, ©horal (record); ''Exultate AHeluia" from motet (record). Opdratip luusic,— "Isis and Osiris," base soIq from "The Magic FJute" (record); recitative, "FriendJy Glado" aad aria 4 ' ' Gentle Zephyr," from"ldiOmeu^o," siing by Miss D.
