In the midst of the crisis threatening the existence of Basque independence, the President, Senor Aguirre, found time to telegraph greetings to King George. ' 'The Basque people are closely united with Britain throughout history by ties of friendship aud human aspirations towards civilisation which democracy cannot forget even in this moment of bitterness, threatening the destruction of Christian ideals, liberty and justice. It joins in the rdjoicings of the British people at the Coronation and fervently expresses its cordial adhesion.'-'
