RUAKITURI WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The May meeting of the Ruakitnri Women 's Institute was held on Friday, the president, Mrs. W. Beny, being in the chair. There was a very good attendance, and the meeting was very pleased to enrol new members and to welcome several visitors. Mr, Smith gave a very lucid and Interesting talk on the care and use of the machine. Mrs. Berry accorded him a very hearty vote of thanks on behalf of the Institute, The members were sorry to *say farewell to Mrs. Neil Thompson, whose husband has taken up work in Wairoa. The eiitertainment circle read a play entitled "Playgoers," the copies of which were very kindly lent by the Dramatic Circle of the Wairoa Women Js Institute. A collection of clothes was taken for the Distriet Nurse's box. The competition, "The best decorated bowl of Flowers," was won by Mrs. Evans, w.hose entry was a mixed bowl. Mesdames Hughes, N. Thompson and 8. Spence were the day's very efficient hostesses. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
