Tke tkirteentk annual nicetiug of tke Waipukurau branck of tke Plunket Society was lield on Tuesday, tke Mayor, Mr I. W. >N. Mackie, presidiug over- a small attendauce. Delegates wero also preseut from tke Takapau subbranch. Tke president 's annual report read ,&s follows;-— We ara pleased to report tkat Plunket work kas rnade satisfactory progress during . tke year. Tke .fortnigktly serviee at Porangahau kas justifled itself, as Nurse Campbell is kept busy wkile tkere. It is gratifying to learn tkat tke Maori mothers. of tke district are availing tkemselves of and appreciating Plunket serviee. Tke following is a summary of tke nurse 7s activities during tke year: — Visits to rooms, adalts, Waipukurau 1790, Takapau 496, Porangahau 174; babies, Waipukurau 1284, Takapau 393, Porangahau 101; children, Waipukurau 706, Takapau 184, Porangahau 74; total, Waipukurau 3780, Takapau 1073, Porangahau 349. Yisits to komes: "Waipukurau 847, Takapau 234, Porangahau 114; new cases, Waipukurau 70, Takapau. 30, Porangahau 20. * From February 23 to March 3 wc held Plunket week, during wkicli tinie members of tke comniittee and friends worked valiantly to raise funds. Tke Toc H vory generously eo-operated wilh ua in a vsuccessful stoclc drive. As tke resuit of theso activitiea we were able to bank £176 13/2. Our tkanks are oxtended to all wko kclped in xnaking the effort suck a success. In conclusion, we again wish to extend our grateful thanks to Mr J, W, Harding, for donation of lirewood; tlio Heretaunga . Ske was ,accorded a vote of appreciation by members. Miss Hobson, as secretary, and Mrs Grant, as treasurer, wero also accorded votes of appreciation for tkeir valuablo services. In spealdng of Miss Hobson 7s work, Mr Mackie stated tkat ke considerod tke society was fortunate in kaving suck a capable secretary.
