ONGAONGA MEETING
The usual monthly meeting of the Ongaonga Women's Institute was held in the hall, tliere being a fair attendance of members. Mrs E. Bradley presided. Mrs L. Carr, delegate to tbe halfy.early Federation meeting, gave a most interesting account of the day's proceedings, which was greatly appreciated' by the members who were • unable to attend. This was followed by a very instructive' demonstration of bandaging and general first aid, which was given by Mrs Blackett, of St, John Ambulance Divisien, all members feeling that they had acqnired quite a number of useful hints. Both Mrs Carr and Mrs Blackett were accorded a very hearty vote of thanks. A refreshing afternoon tea was served by hostesses, Mrs Barlow and Miss Bradley, after which Mesdames Beachen and Bradley, responsible for the entertainment part of the programme, staged a humorous little sketch which was thoroughly enjoyed. The montli's competitions kindly judged by Mrs Yardley, resulted as follow : Clifford biscuits, Mrs Carr 1, Mrs Spackman 2, Mrs Bell 3; best embroidered table centre: Mrs Diamond 1, Mrs Carr 2, Miss Bradley 3. In the latter class there was a record number of entries.
