London Busmen Refuse To Compromise (Received 11, 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, May 10. The Daily Telegraph says that the Ministry of Labour conciliation officer, Mr F. W. Leggett, worked day and night to avert a hold-up of the transport services during the Coronation. It has been decided that further conciliation is useless owing to the recalcitrance of the central hus commiittee, which adamantly refused to com promise. A later message states that the conference of busmen decided by 47 votes to 3 to continue the strike. The. question of an extention of the strike t° other services was referred to the executive council.
