Annual Meeting Reviews Prospects for the Year

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. Boxing prospects for Waipukurau during the coming year appear to be unusually bright, judjging by the enthusiasm displayed by member of the Waipukurau- Boxing Club at the annual meeting last evening. The patron, Mr A. W. Parsons, presided over 18 members. Tlie club's finanqes, as shown in the balanee-sheet,. are quite satisfactory, the balance in ihe bank being £32 6/4. The cluh has no liabilities. "We have had a wonderful commitrtee on thig club which is loyai and enthusiastic," said Mr Parsons, when commentiug upon the prospects of tho club. "We have something to fight for, because our reputation in Hawke's Bay is a good oue, and we intend to carry ou tlie good work to the best of our ability." Mr C. L. Crooks congratulated the club on a good year's work atid said that lie thougkt the past year had proved tlie club to be a keen sporting body. Edgecombe, Jas Butler, B. Booth, Jack Butler, F. Grainger, g. Ross, J. B. Tucker, B. Freemantle, M. O'Conner, J. McBride, Puru Logan, Barnes and Dr O'Day. Mr Parsons announced that Jack Davy had been awarded Mr C. Crooks' trop'hy for the most consistent boxing pupil during the past year.
