h — - Hastings Busy Adding The Final Touches BRILLIANT DISPLAYS The decorations of the main business areas in Hastings for Coronation and Borough Jubilee Week proceeded apace this morning, when the finishing touches to the comprehensive street decorations were carried out and individual business houses set about fashioning their own display s. Already the town has been bedecked on a scale that has not been hitherto attempted, and it is possible to visualise how the town will appear when fully decorated with multi-eoloured bunting, streamers, symbolie flags and banners, and loyal and ceremonial motifs intermingled with scores of strings of gailycoloured electrict lights. t With the blaze of bright lights and the many magnificent window displays and other adornments on the buildings Hastings will present a memorable scene, and will be jojning with the rest

& of the British cities and towns throughout the world in celebrating the most important event of the year — the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The Hastings Borough Council and the Hastings and Distriet Progress League have sponsored the streetdecoration sbheme, and this morning the two great coat-of-arms standards were being placed in position as a suitable central point for the town's decorations. The Municipal Buildings have been gaily decorated with strings and festoons of flags ahd bunting, and await now only the lighting-up of tho Jirundreds of lights. /The clock tower is also being attended' lo, and here tho central item will be the huge crown. Other borough buildings are also being decorated. The majority of the retailers have already prepared special window features. Patriotic emblems, with crests aud crowns outstanding, have been taken 3 as a cemtre-piece by many of them. Many of the shop staffs wero busy again this morning adding red, white and blue streamers and fastening banners to the facades of their buildings and generally doing their share to make the town's decorations as a whole as spectacular and biilliant as possible. Though officjally the Coronation celebrations throughout the Empire will not begin until next Wednesday, Hastings has already made a start, but the principal function will not take place until Wednesday morning, when the big special service will he held at Nelson Park-
