1 WAIPUKURAU, This Day. | In one of the best games seen in [ Central Hawke's Bay rMs season, i Otane scored a win over Old Boys by 11 points to nil on Saturday. The Old Boy forwards, with the Wilson brothers and Robertson proxninent, were superior and kept play in Otane 's half during the greater part of the second half, but Otane 's defence held. , Tolley was sound at full-back. The . Otane backs lacked combination, while "heir forwards, with Burgess and Beale cutstanding, were overwnelmed by the VV'hite forwards. On resumption of play hard ruus upileld by Bellis and S. Drinkrow put Otane in a strong posifcion. J. Jamieson cleaied with a long kick downfield. For the remainder of the second haif Old Boys kept play in the Otane half and although they tried desperately to score, Otane 's defence held out. On resumption of play Waipukurau set a brisk pace and Higgins scored. He failed to add the extra points. Waipukurau 11, Porangahau 0. The Blues were again attacking strongly when A. Kuru fielded a long kick and found the line well down. A penalty kick enabled Bassett to send the Greens into "Waipukurau 's 25; Porangahau kept up the attack. M. Ferguson relieved momentarily. Petuha fielded the ball and passed to G. Kuru, who dived over for a try after a brilliant baek movement. Bassett failed to convert, Time was called with the scores readding.
