FATAL PARALYSIS CASE

Elderly Man Dies in Napier Hospital OTHERS DOING WELL The first infantile paralysis death in the Napier Public Hospital in the present epidemic occurred yesterday, when Mr. J. W. Eeedy, of Euatoria, aged 59, died at about 1.30 p.m. after a short period in the institution. The patient had been on a short visit to Hastings when he became nnwell,»and the ailment was diagnosed as paralysis. He was immediately removed to the Napier Hospital on Saturday, but he died on Sunday. The other paralysis cases at the hospital, numberiag about 15, are all mild cases, and reeovery is eoxifidently expected of all of them, apart from some wasting of the muscles.
