Procession and Children's Sports Next Wednesday
(From
OTANE, Last Night. Wednesday next will be Otane 's big day. The children will assemble at school as usual, and at.10 o 'clock a decorated and fancy dress procession will assemble at the Post Office and after a short address by Mr. A E. Jull will proceed to the recreation ground, where a gala day. will be held for the children. A long prograaime of races and many novelty events has been arranged for every age and size. There will be an abundance of refreshments and soft drinks, and also lollie scrambles. The prize list is a very liberal one, and in ' addition a number of prizes will be awarded for best decorated cars, lorries, bicycles, prams, doll's prams, bartows and carts. An enthusiastic committee is making very complete arrangements for the day 's events, and has already received many liberal donations, v It is safe to say that few, if any, children in New Zealand will be better catered for than the children of Otane.
