ORMONDVILLE, This Day. Ih© Town Board held its monthly meeting on Wednesday night all members attending. Correspondence was received from the Minister of Transport enclosing a pamphlet on this subject, and enquiring re the erection of uotices in suitable places regulating the speed at which vehicles may be driven through townships. Tho chairman, Mr H..J. Newling, reported that an cfficer of the Transport Department, Mr Forsyth, had waited upon him in thi3 connection to ascertain which were th© most suitable spots to erect speedlimit uotices. The board was of the opiuion that 30 miles per hour would be a reasonable speed, A grant of £5 5/- was voted to the King George Memoriai Fund. The Post and Telegraph Department wrote jn connection with the recent petition that Norsewood telephones should he* connected with the Ormondville exchange. An ofKcer of the department is to wait on each Norsewood subscriber in the near future to make final arrangements in this matter. The chairman of the school committee asked if the board would assist in procuring Coronation medals for children in the boards area.— It was decided to procure medals for all children attending the Makotuku and Ormondville schools. Tenders are to be invited for the delivery of 150 yards of metal for road repairs in the township. ' Sitting as a Domain Board one small account was passed for payment.
