Hawke's Bay firms have received the following advices from' their London houtes regarding thd wool saies:— Williams and Kettle Ltd. — The tbird series of London wool saies closed yesterday, May 6. Crossbreds met an active domand chiefly from Bradford buyers. On other sorts the market was » irregular. Closing quotations for wools of average style and condition are; — 36/40 's, 15£d. to 16d.j 40-44 's 15|d. to 16|d.; 44/46's, 16d. to l64d.; 46/48's 16id. to 16|d.j 48/50 's 16id., to I7d. Murray, Roberts and Co. Ltd.— Saies have closed with a good toue. Competition general. Market i rregular. Compared with last London saies closing rates:— Greasy Merino best descriptions advanced 5 per cent; other descriptions, market shows no chatige; scoured Merino, best descriptionS, market shows no change; other descriptions market irregular, deciined 5 per cent.; crossbred greasy fine deseriptions, market irregular, advanced 5 per cent.; medium, advanced 5 per cent.; coarse, advanced 5 per cent.; scoured, , market shows no change; slipe crossbred, par to 5 per cent. decline.
