Buyers Keen But Iiicrease In WithdrawaU (Eeceived 7, 2.30 p.m.j LONDON, May a At the London wool saies, 7,643 bales were offered, including 3,291 bales from New Zealand, and 5,489 bales Were sold. There was a moderate seleotioh, with keen competition from the Home trade. Sellers' limits were above btxyers' ideas and withdratvals were frequent all round. Throughout the series 67,300 bales wero Offered and 55,500 sold. The hoxhe trade bought 29,500 bales and the Continent 26,000. The tendency throughout, after being firm, was quieter, but competition Was keen. Compared with closing prices at the last series, prices were from par tb 7£ per cent. dearer. Owing to the lightness of stocks, top-makers are not accepting new business unless at curreht rates.
