HOLE IN ONE
Napier Woman Golfer's Feat When Miss June Gasson completed her iron shot from the tee at the fifth hole at the Maraenui golf links lft3t week-eud, the ball flew straight aud true from the club-head, struck the fairway near the edge of the greeu, rebounded two or three tim.es aud rolled aloug the greeu aud dowu the hole — her first hole-in-one and the first at Maraenui since 1934. The distanee from the tee to the pin is 135 yards, Her suxprise was the more agreeable in view of the club's recent decision to do away with the "shout for the house." Holers-in-one are now invited to be the guests of the clqb for a day, as is the practice with some of the leajmg golf cluV^ in England. Not only will Miss Gasson be the guest of honour of the club in the near future, but also will she have her name inqluded on the honours board at the Maraenui club-house whieh tells only of those golfers who have performed the. "perfeet fiuke."
