SPRINGBOK MATCH CHARGES

Considered Too High By H.B. Union MR McKENZIE'S WARNING Further complaints regarding the high prices for provineial matches against the Springboks were made by the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union last night, members being unanimously of the opinion that the charges were too great. it was decided to ask the New Zealand Rugby Union to reeonsider the prices for prpvincial matches, with tlie suggestion that the prices applying at the time of tbe English tour in 1930, be substituted for those arranged. "I think the prices are excessive, 1 ' said the acting chairman, Mr. J. W. Callaghan. J'A protest should be made asking that the New Zealand Union reeonsider its decision. it might have eome effect, as they are altOgether too high." Mr. H. V. Phillips: I suggest that we should have a players > stand, from which players of all grades could watch the game at a reduced price. Mr. C. McLean: For people coming from Wairoa or the country, the prices ara outrageous. Mr. N. A. McKenzie: What yill you do if they say that Wanganui will take a game 9-t those charges and give it to them? That was done to Taranaki not so long ago. I euggest that we ask that they iix the charges as for the English tour. The suggestion was put in the form of a motion and carried.
