• Hastings Branch Activities The Hastings branch of the British Legion has had a very busy time lately, and April was no exception to the rule. Among its activities were: — The monthly meeting was held on April 8, and after business was finish- * qjl the usuai smoke concert was 'held and members were able to enjoy telling the old yams and experiences that are even new to the "Old Timer." On April 22 the branch held its first social and dance of the season in the Premiei* Hall and a large crowd of ■members and their friends turned out to have their usual enjoyable time. Miss Smith and Mrs Sheppard gave a song which was greatly yappreciated, as was a Scottish reel by little Miss Mcques. Mr Foddy treated the gathering to a monologue entitled "The Pig Tail of Li-Fang-Fu" and als0 "Sams Musket" and Mr A. Robertson, in his humorous Scotch monoiogues nearly brought the house down. Dances old and new kept the evening void of a dull moment, and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne," 0 and the National Anthem brought the | evening to a close. * | On Anzac Day most of the members I paraded with the Returned Soldiers I Association and paid homage to the 1 tnemory of their comrades of the Anzao | Corp who gave their lives in the Great I War of 1914-18. f The Hastings branch o fthe British Legion ^ states that it is wholeheartedI.v behind the Returned Soldiers' Association in its efforts to keep Anzao L ay sacred to that glorious memorv for all timo.
