Work Done on Scheme To date a total of 93,948 cubio yards of xnaterial have been handled in the making of both the north and south banks of the Ngaruroro rivet and a total of £21,885 has been expended on the scheme. At yesterday' s meeting of the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board, the engineer, Mr G. Rochfort, iu reportiiig upon the progress during the past month, stated that 90 men and 22 teams liad been employed on the work. During the period 15,864 cubic yards were placed on the south bank, mak"'ng a total of 58,049 in this work. The average Cost a yard was 1/11 J, about 15 chains of the bank had been thatched. To date 162 chains of eight wire 1 fencing had been complcted-
