WAIPUKURAU SALE Well-Bred Station Lines Of Store Cattle MIXED STORE SHEEP Another good yarding of wellbred station lines of store cattle was offered at Waipukurau today when there was an easier market throughout. The price levels, gen-' erally, made for satisfactory saies. An exceptionally well-bred line of dehorned 30-mth. Hereford steers froia the Gisborne district, realised £8 10/^ Fairly grown young bullocks in forward order made to £8 13/6. Weaner steers, ■■ skowing good breeding, fairly grown," were slow to trade. An attractive well-bred line of 20-mth. heifers, which should develop into splendid breeding cows, made £5 19/-. Breeding cows * in calf were also rather difficult to' sell, useful lines in calf sincv oarly Decem. ber f ailing to - jgo over the £5 mark. hThe fat cattle pens were a plain quality lot. The only ox beef that was prime was a line of well-bred small; V grown young bullocks on account of ; Mr. Charles Pattison. V 4 ... - There was a moderate yarding of store sheep which was a mixe'd offering' of wethers, breeding ewes and lambs. Realisations were as under:— ' FAT CATTLE, An entry of nine small to medium* framed Aberdeen Angus cows, in plaia ctrder and unfinished, did not attract^ to pass at £5. On account Mr O. Pattison, six small * to medium-framed Aberdeen Angu» cows, quite Well finished but light, brought £6 5/-. Eight small-grown Aberdeen Angus heifers, mixed in quality, the best being fairiy finished, made to £7. , On account of Mr 0. Pattison, six ' well-bred full-grown Aberdeen Angus* bullocks, being a prime quality entry, . of choiee yonng ox beef, were paesed at £9 10/-. In from Argyll, 20 Aberdeen Angus* Hereford cross cows, in. quite good ordewr and running with ah Aberdeen. Angus bull since December, ; were passed at £5 10/-. _ . . On account of Mr C. Pattison, Waiwera, 20 well-bred Aberdeen Angus bullocks, in forward condition, mediumgrown and ready Ior finishing off, met the market at £8 13/6. quality young. cattle, sold at £8 9/-. Down from Wakarara, 18 Hereford cows, very light condition aud running with an Aberdeen Angus bull since December, sold at £4 10/-. On account of Mr T. Price, 48 dehorned well-bred 30-month Hereford steers; forward condition, a pattticularly, good quality entry of young cattle, which should finish readily, were passed at £8 10/-, These steers were an unusually attractive offering, fully showing the breed characteristics. An entry of 44 nicely-grown Aberdeen Angus-Hereford c»ross 20-month heifers, in hardy good-doing condition, • the fonndation of a good breeding herd, met the market at £5 19/-. On account of Mr H. G. Palby, Wanstead, 26 dehorned Hereford cows, just weaned calves, r.w. Aberdeen Angus, were passed at £5. On account of Mr A. Judd, 19 medium grown 2G-month Aberdeen Angus steers, a few showing the Hereford cross, in good order and hardy, wero passed at £7 18/-. An entry of well-bred Hereford wea* ner steers, having just come off their mothers, in good order; were' passed at £4. A line of 16 small grown Aberdeen Angus steers, in backward order, bu4 should come away on suitable feed^ brought ."5 14/-. - Tn from Wanstead, 20 clean-bred. tairly grown weaner Hereford heifers,, in good order, sold at £5 4/-. In from Takapau, 12 medium-grown 30-months Aberdeen Angus steers, in light to medium order, made £7 11/% FAT SHEEP. An entry of '22 well-woolled medium;' to prime heavy ewes/ made 22/-. A line of 36 small-grown, bla'ck-face. lambs, in light condition, sold at 20/-. An entry of 20 medium-framed, prime, well-woolled wethers, made 26/7* A line of light finished, aged ewes brought 17/10. A bid of 20/6 was offered for a line of small-grown, black-face lambs, o£ medium quality. A* line of small-grown Down cross lambs, prime order, made 22/7. A small entry of well-'grown, heavy; Down cross prime lambs, made 27/9. An entry of woolly Romney lambs, very light condition, made 20/-. Seventeen well-woolled ewes, primai order, made 22/6. STORE SHEEP On account of Messrs A. D. aiid W. S. Iiitto, 187 small-grown dowii cross lambs, in meaty condition, sold ebeaply at 14/6. An entry of 28 ^ 6 and 8-th ewes, running with Romney rams since March 1, wero passed at 29/-. These ewes wero well grown and well woolled, being in fresh good breeding order, An entry of 151 wethers, in extcfc forward condition and well woolled^ sold at 24/1. . ;
