OLD BOYS AND PORANGAHAU HAVE CLOSE GAME

WAIPUKURAU, Tliis Day. The Oentral Hawke',s Bay Rugby Sub-Union's competitions were continued at NVaipukurau on Saturday in fine weather. The ground was in a hard condition- On No. 1 ground Old Boys defeated Porangahau by 12 points to iix, after a close game. The teaxns were :— -Old Boys (White) : ,J. Jamieson, W. Raymond, P. The Porangahau forwards carried play to the Old Boys' line, where A. Kuru bullocked his way over for a try. Kuru failed to eonvert. Old Boys 12, Porangahau 6. Time was called shortly after. Mr Yf. Phillips refereed. Otane's Decislvt Wiri. On No. 2 ground Otane icored a decisive win over iWaipukurau by 22 points to six. .After being on top in the first half Waipukurau tired quickly and were overwhelmed by Otane, who put on 17 pointa in the second half.
