Mr J. W. Norrie was unanimouely Te-elected chairmaD at the annual meeting of the Napier Fire Board Mr W. L. Eay, of Wellington, who has been spending a holiday in Napier, is returning home via Palmerston North. The Very Rev. Archimandrite Antoniour Mobayed, of the St. Nichojas Syrian Orthodox Chureh in Melbourne, has arrived in Dunedin in the eourso of a visit to the members of the faith in New Zealand. Mr G. Jackson, managing director of the Ford Motor Co. Ltd., New Zealand, was in Napier during the. week-end, t«P gether with Mr W. „Taylor, saies manager, and Mr J. Broun, service manager. They left for Gisborne this morning in company with Mr J, E. Peach. Mr G- D. Beatson, president of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club, is at present an inmate of a private Hastings nursing home. He is expeeted to be well enough to leave1 this institution by Saturday when the Hawke '« Bay Jubi]ee Cup will be deeided.
