IVORY SATIN WORN BY WAIPUKURAU BRIDE
AUSTIN — McCORMICK The marriage of Gladys Mary, tkird daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. McCormick, Waipukurau, and Arthur Stanley, son of Mr. and ' Mrs. E. H. Anstin, Napier, was celebrated at the Presbyterian Church, Woodville, on April 20. The Eev. Mr. Boyd officiated and Mrs. Jack McCormick played the wedding music. ' Choice seasonable fiowers and autumn poliage had been •istd to deeorate the church. .The bride, entering the church •with her brother, Mr. A. L. McCormick, Maharekeke, made a charming picture ip -her graceful gown of heavy ivory satiu fashiond on classical lines. The hUrh neckline was , prettily faggoted, and the sleeves long and tight-fitting. The slim fltting skirt -was rueked at the Mp, "and the long sweeping train fell frojn a doubie ruck at the waistline. Jler beautiful veil of needle-run net appliqued in one corner with raised 'satin bells,. fell from a plaited halo of orange blossom to form a second train. White sa.tin shoes were worn, and she carried a bouquet of white and pink .carnations and fern.: The bride was attended by her niece, Miss Constance ■ McCormick, who was gowned in a -mid-Vict'orian frock of white dimity, sp'rigged in pink. The tight-fitting bodice had short -pirffed sK'eves,' and -.the1 skirt • was long and f L'll, and a sash- of blue taffeta defined Lh'e "waistline. -She "vYore a- headband of pink and blue organdi flowers, gold shres,. and carried a bouquet of pink and*blue flowers.* " The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Austin, • brother of the bridegroom. After the ceremony a rception was hold at the home of Mrs. I\ J. Williamb, Woodville, sister of tho brido, only xelatives bcing- present. Mrs. ' Williains was wearing a gmart mbdel frock in rust marocain, with a matching felt hat and her bouquet was composed of autumn - flowers. Mrs. B. J.- McCormick, mother of the bride, chose black crepe-de-chene, worn with a black felt hat, and she carried a bouquet of blue delphiniums, verbenia and ferns. The usual toasts were honoured, and tha beautiful wedding cake was cut. When the bride and bridegroom lei*t on th'eir honeynioon, the bride travelled in "a* smart coronation purple lightweight tweed suit with a lace jabot, purple felt hat trimmed with a cerise feather mount and a black fur-trimmed eoat. - . . . * • Mr. and Mrs. Austin 's future home will'be in Opotiki.
