OTANE PLUNKET SOCIETY'S BALL

A Brilliant Success The Otane Plunket Society' s annual bali, jyhicli took placo on Wednesday niglit, was a brilliant sucoess, attracting a very large nnmbex* qI visitors from both town and country. * The hall, with its attractive decorations of bamboo, raupo, ferns, autumn-tinted foliage 'and beautiful flowers in autumn shades, made an effective setting for the charming and colourftil dresses of the ladies. The music was supplied by Les Henry's orchestra, and with a well-arranged programme of dances, the evening passed pleasantly. Messrs B. White and R. Ashby carried out the ditties of M.C.'s and much appreciated Supper extras were played by Mrs McHardy. * Portion of the supper-room was set apart for bridge players, and here a bright fire made the rooia cosy and cheerful. A delectable supper of sweets and savouries was served by the committee members, who, with the indefatigable president, Mrs J. Clark, and the secretary, Mrs G. Warren, had made very complete arrangements for the pleasure and Ontertainment of their guests. The prizes for the bridge were won by Mrs Allan King and Mr W. . Couper. !Mrs Guy Taylor won the hidden number comiJetition, and a Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Martin and partner. Among the many present were: — The president, Mrs J.
