DANNEVIRKE, April 29. The officers and n.c.o. 's of the Wel-lington-East Coast mounted regiment entered the Dannevirke racecourse on Saturday, April 24, and the main body marched in on Tuesday last. The camp is commanded by Lieut.-Col. H. Ji. Maunsell, E.D., with Major G. H. Wilson second in command, and Lieut. B. H. Perritt as adjutant. Other officers are: Asst. Adj., Lieut. L. B. Ballantyne; Quartermaster, Lt. J. Thompson; O.C. H.Q. wing, Capt. L JT. Bell; M.G. officer, Lieut. H. Bobiuson; sign.sls Officer, Second Lieut. W. Hutcheson; AJling O.C., B. Squadron, Capt. R. A. O. Selby; Acting O.C., C. Squadron, Capt. J. Walsh. Troop leaders: Lieut. J. T. Russell, Lieut. S. W, Ellingham, Seconc Lieut. Van Elyne, Second Lieut. E. Bell, Second Lieut. C« Wright; Veteriu ary Officer, Major P. Haugh, N.Z.V.C.; Medical Officer, Lieut. A. Young N.Z.M.C. Attaehed officers: Major 11 Sinel, N.Z.A.; Lieut. P. Joyce, R.N.Z.A., Lieut. Ramsden, N.Z.A.S.C; Secon Lieut. Craig, First Hawke's Bay Regi ment; Ghaplain, Captain Hercus; Band master, Lieut. A. Wood. The officers and n.c.o. 's took part in the Anzae parade under Capt. J. Walsii and placed a wreath on the memorial on : behalf of the regiment. There are 176 of all ranks in camp and training is proceeding very satisfactorily. The regiment is doing night manoeuvres to-night, when an outpost position will be taken up. On Monday night next the regiment inoves out after dark and occupies a position at Te Rehuuga, in readiness for a daxvn attack, and early on Weduesday morning (3 a.m.) will carry out a Wick fianking movement cast of the Mana vatu river. The object of the manoeuvres is to .stop an imagiuary enemy from over running Hawke's Bay, and foree him baek through the Manawata Gorge •ken to hold the gorgc against furthe? attacks from the south,
