Record Poppy Return. The sale of poppies in the Waipawa district by the local branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association returned a total of £29, tho highest return on record. School for Waipawa. " The chairman of the Hawke's Bay Education Board, Mr G. A. Maddison, who was recently in Wellington on matters connected with the board, has intimated that he expects very shortly to receive advice of a grant for the new primary school at Waipawa. Farmer Injured. Mr A. J. Carroll, the well-known farmer, of Huramua, Wairoa, met with an accident on Tuesday which has since confined him to his home. He was riding over the station when his horse stumbled at a depression in the ground, throwing the rider, and rolling upon him. The ground was hard and Mr Carroll, not being a light-weight, sustained some severe bruises and is still under medical treatment at his home. Donation Acknowledged.
