NEW BANK BUILDING
Site Purchased in Town WAIPUKURAU, April 29. The corner block, togbther with two .ections fronting Northumberland street md a section fronting Ruataniwha ;trcet, havo been acquired by the lational Bank of New Zealand. It is the bank's intention to erect, at an carly date, modern banking premises on the site purchased. It is understood that the aale was cKected at approximately the reserve piice, the two sections ln the main street bringing in the vicinity of £40 por foot. The decision of the National Bank to open premises in Waipukurau justifies a very optimistic view regarding the future of Waipukurau and district. Recently the block of land situated on the corner 'of Ruataniwha and Northumberland streets was offered for ;ale on behalf of the trustees of the ostate of Rupuha te Hianaga, but no saies were offected at the time.
