a-V-r "-*■ »- r Grass Needs Grazing or Mowittg workmen warned New grass has already been soWn at the Napier aerodrome, following consolidating and relevelling operations carried out by the Public Works Department, and a letter to the Napier Airport Board last evening stated that the department considered it would be necessary to have the area grazed or moWn at the end of June. Feilding a reply from the Napier Borough Council to a letter forwafding this information, no action has been taken by the board, The department 's letter stated that portion of the area was thickly grown in fescue, thistle and other tall Wfeed growth, and that it would be necessary that this ,be kept in eheck. It is probable that a lease of the area for grazing purposes for a niiMber of years will be made shortly. Following mention of the matter by Mr. N. Harston, it was decided to write to the Public Works Department, pointing out the dangef of the practice of their workmen on the Beacons Aerodrome walking across the landing field when planes were landing, The caretaker is in futnre to take the names of offenders in this respect, "It's all right for an experienced piiot," said Mr. Harston, "but for a first or second time solo flyer, he haS enough to watch as it is, without being worried about men in his path.H Mf.
