Mr. and Miss Egglestonc Farewelled
From
WAIPAWA, Tfiis Day. A most enjoyable social was held in the vestry of the Waipawa Presbyterian Church last evening, when Miss M. Egglestone and Mr R. Eggdestone, who are shortly leaving Waipawa for Lower Hutt, were the guests of the combined boys' and girls' Bible classes. The time passed quickly with games and competitions, a prize in this connection going to Miss Joan Furminger. At a suitable interval in the programme, Mr D. Chalmers, on behalf of the gathering, expressed regret that the timo had corae for the guests of honour to leave Waipawa. He wished them every success and happiness in their new home, and assured them they would always be remembered bv the hosts of friends they were leaving in Waipawa. On behalf of the classes he asked them each to accept a handsome volume as a small token of remembranne. Suitable reply was made by the recipients and they were accorded ui,usical honours. A 'dainty supper was provided bv the inembers, and a very pleasant evening was brouglit to a close with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
