OBSEQUIES
THE LATE ANNABELLA ROE The funeral of the late Miss Annabella Roe took place at Wanganui on Tuesday April 20. A short service was held in the Anglican Church and the cortege then proceeded to the Aromoho Cemetery. The church was filled with friends of the late Miss Roe. Members of the League of Nations TJnion, of which Miss Roe was a valued member, were the pall bearers while profects from the Wanganui Technical College carried the wreaths from the* Church to the hearse. Many beautiful . floral tributes were placed on the grave, including a harp of flowers, on the card attached to which was "To the Memory of a Gallant Irish Lady," this embodying all which the other tributes meant. Six months ago Miss Roe. came to Napier to ro-organiso the Girls' Friendly Society Lodge, Avhich she did with great success. Miss Roe had gone to Wanganui for a month's rest intendtag at the end of that time to return to Napier, but she grew weaker and weaker and passed peacefully away on Sunday evening, April 18. Miss Roe leaves a wide circle of friends to remember her many lcinclnesses. Hers was a most outstanding personality and deep sympathy is felt for her sister and brother ta England.
