Performance in Hastings • Few theatrical companies in the. past have approached the magnitude of the Marcus'Hhow, which opened a Poniinion tour at His Majesty 's Theatre, Auckland, on April 7. The comp^iiy cpnsists of 22 prineipals, 24 chorus girls, 30 ballet dancers and 15 production executives, headed by Mr A. B. MaTcus. The tour is being undertaken throughout Kew Zealand, and later Australia, under combined auspiees of the American organisers of the company, Messrs Leon S. Snider and George B. Dean, and Sir Benjamin and Mr John Fuller, of Australia. Three eompleto variety rcvuos in the Kew York and Chicago style will he l>iesented hy'the company, which rates high aineng Broadway entertainments. The first will be "La Vie Parisienne,' ' whieh will be t'ollowed by "Fantaisiee de l'Orient" and "lteveu Coiitiirental." Eaclv consists.of 30 scenes, more or less, with about 12 special scenes of particularly spectacuiar effect. Kot a "girl sh-ow" in the generally accepted terni, the company 's entertainment is a rapidly-moving succession of highly-developed and lavishly-produced variety acts, sketclies, poses, tableaUx, musical and comic iterris. Special aecommodation has. to be arranged well in advance in view of the size of the personnel. For the first show alone, the 50 girls wear 500 gowns and costumes, many with elaborate head-dresses and trnins. Among tha prineipals are Leon' Miller, Harold Boyd, Sharon De Yries, Fid Gordon, George Sehreck, Senorita Sofia Alvarez, the Six. Tossing Belfords, the Clymas Troupe, Sparkey Kaye. The Mason and Hinton Sisters, Jimmie Parisli, The Wikse Brothers and Armida, " the Dancing Bernays, Ha Cha San, Lillian McCoy,-Art Stanley, 'Les Sechrist. Bob Dyer, . A1 Bieker, Georgene Miller, Dotty Coudy and Sylvia Lee.
