MOTOR CAR WRECKED
- • -«-«»-*■ -r Occupants Escape Injury TAKAPAU ACCIDENT A man and a woman, whose names cannot be ascertained, who were travel.ing from Wellington to Hastings itt a xive-seater car, had a very fortunato escape about 8 o'clock last evenittg when their car left the road between Takapau attd Waipukurau, and after tearing five posts off the fettce fell on xts side, being compieteiy wreeked. The . passengers were not injured, except that the man sttstaitted n slight cut qn the hand. The driver of the car was apparently dazzled by the lights of an oncoming c'ar which caused him to run off the road on to the grass on the left, and after proceeding about 50 yards on the grass, during which time the driver was trying to get the car back on to the road, he slewed the wheel round tdo far, causing the car to crash into the fence to finaily fall on its sxde AU the glass was broken and the car compieteiy wreeked, the radiator being knoeked back to the windscreen. The aceident occurred -just outside Mr William Brocklehurst's place. Mr Brocklehutsfc brought the passenger* to Hastings last night,
