Annual Meeting Held WAIPUKURAU, April 27. The possibilities of buying a new fire engine and of contributing a small suin towaTds the wages of the nightwatchman, Mr. E. G. Price, were discuMcd at the annual meeting of the Waipukurau Fire Board last night when annual reports were presented by the chairman of the board, Mr. W. G. Bryce, arfd tho superintendent of the Fire Brigade, Mr. J. A. Chambers. It was decided to held both the matters over until the uext meeting of the board on July 26. Mr. W. G. Bryce, who was re-electt>d chairman for the ensuing year, presided. fcjpeaking of the possibility of buying a new fire engine, Mr. Chambers said that the present machine was not on sidered to be fast enough by the Inspeetor of Fire Brigades, Mr. G. Butcher, who had told him that a newer anv; more up-to-date one should be proeurod. The matter was held over ti.ll ihe uext meeting of t.he board.
