Investiga'tion By Britain PRELIMINARY TO WORLD CONFERENCE

RUGBY, April 26. Sis Majesty's Government considers that before any steps are taken to summon a further world conference, thorough and comprehensive investigation is xequired to ascertain that th&re is a prospect df success. In repeating this statement in a Houae of Commons answer, Lord Cranborne recalled that his Majestyfl Government and the Prench Government had recently invited the Prime Minister of Belgium to undertake formal inquiries as to the possibility of gecuring a general relaxation of obetacles to international trade. M. Van Zeeland had been good enough to accept this invitation, and his Majesty's Government was of opinion that the results of his investigatons should be awaited before the question of summoning a world conference was considered. \
