Wairoa Poppy Saies. In Wairoa the wh'ole supply of 1500 poppies was sold on Poppy Day. •Band Concert at Waipawa. The members of the Waipawa Muni* cipal Band and tho Waipukurau Town Band combined on (Sunday bvening and gave a most enjoyable concert in the Municipal Theatre, Waipawa, under the baton of Mr E. J. Maher. There was only a fair attendanee of the public. The programme was as follows: — Mareli, ' ' fSword and Lance"; selection, "In tlie Soudan"; waltz, "Donauwallen"; hymn, "Lead Kindly Light"; marc-h, "London Pride"; selection, "Clarendon"; waltz, "Flowers of Australia"; march, "Cottonopolis"; National Anthem. Otane Plunket Dance. On Wednesday night members of the Otane Plunket Society will hold their annual dance and, as in the past, 110 eft'ort wib be spared to ensure tliat patrons will spend a pleasureable and enjoyable evening. Mr Les Henry's orchestra will provide the music, and tlie supper will, as usual, be a special feature of the evening's function. Bridge will be arranged for non-dan-cers Kotemaori Evenings A series of "500" evenings which have been held in tho Kotemaori Hall during the last few weeks have been well patronised. The grand finale to a Public Works picnic was a dance, .which was also very successful. Credit is due to the committen for their efforts. Footbali at Kotemaori. Football has now taken the place of cnicket at Kotemaori, and already several games have been played, and keen eontests are expected during this coming season.
