Taranaki Considering Proposal

NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. Bepresentatives of the county councils in Taranaki are to hold a conference to consider the proposals by Hon. W. E. Parry that the ten county counfilw in the province should be reduced to two— one in the north and one in the south. Following His meeting with the southern bodies yesterday, the Minister to-day met North Taranaki local body representatives and placed before them his proposal for the amalgaination of the Clifton and Inglewood a>i Egmont and Taranaki counties. The representatives subsequently discussed the proposals in committee and agreed to call a conference.
