African Divorcee Pleads Guilty - CAPETOWN, April 22. " Bagahkamets, the divorced wife of? Tsliekedi pleaded guilty in the DiStriet Conxmissioner's Court at Sernme, to a fcharge of praetising witcheraft. Three natives, allegedly witeh doctors,' also pleaded guilty. Bagahwametsi was accused of at-* tempting to -bewiteh and' injure thoqueen mother, Semane, because she thought Semane was attempting to alienate Tshbkedi's affeetion from her. Evidenee was given that Bagahkametsi and witeh doctors arranged. to put love philtres in TshekediJs tea„ Tshekedi, chief of the Bamangwatos, whom Adnjiral Evans suspended in 1938 because Tshekedi ordered the flogging of a white man, obtained a divorce on the groundn of his *wif e 's ihiidelity. Tshekedi deelared that his wife had used love potions obtained fi'om a -witeh doetor to attract a lover. The wife denied the visits of a "second husbandj" saying: "He must have come like the breath of a god because I did not see him "
