DANCE FOR WHAKATU QUEEN HELD AT CLIVE
Another .very successful dance was held in the Clive Ha'll on Tuesday night when a yery large crowd danced to the music of Les. Henry's orchestra. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr B. Cushing. The dance was held in aid of the Whakatu Queen (Miss Molly Jeffray). The hall and supper room were decorated with the queen's colours, blue and gjold, the flowers on the tables being in the same tonifigs. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Long and Mr Redshaw. . Other competitions were : — Baby's outfit, Mrs A. Ferguson, Whakatu, hairpin duchesse set, Miss Maud Dockary. A Eandknitted bed jacket donated by Mrs. Haggerty, Kilmore street, Wellington, was by a strange coincidence won by the donor, who very generously gave it back to be competed for again whep it was won by Mr Biddell, Whakatu. The ladiea' comanittee responsible for the supper arrangements were, Mesdames Jeffray, McKee, McIDwraith, Ogilvie, Hanson, Cleary and Burge. It was decided to hold another dance in the near future.
