. -Wellington, Last Nigbt.. ' A. large deputation of ' sharemilkers representing- Auckland, . Wellington and Taranaki, introduced by Hon. T. BrinSle and led by Mr. C. Gough, waited on theacting Minister- of, Labour (Hon. P. C., Webb) on Tuesday requesting the early' calling of a conference • of , employers and sharemilkers with a view to Teaching standard agreements thronghout New Zealand. , • ■ The .Minister gave a very favourable ,reply, stating that "he had no idea the ipresent conditions of employment for ■sharemilkers were so bad. ' ' The deputation met in conference which sat'for two days and finally re-, solved to form a New Zealand Sharemilkers' Association pending the promised legislation which will give them standing under . the I.C. ,ancL A., Act as . an , industrial union. Officers were elected and organisers appointed for each district. Mr. C. Gough was t elected honorary national secretary. . Claims were drawn up providing. for two standard agreements throughout . New Zealand and rulcs were adopted j for the newly-formed association. The organisers will begin duties in their di-trits immediately.
