Ladies' Club Opens Season

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. The Waipukurau Ladies' Golf Club opened the 1937 season on the Maharakeke links yesterday when a large number of players participated in a fourball bogey match. The links have already been greatly improved for the coniing season, but until rain com.es, players will not derive mueli benelit from these improvements. The following were the best cards handed in: Mrs. Urquhart and Miss Hartley, 5 up. Mrs. Browne and Miss Billington, 4 up. Miss Tareha and Miss Murray, 2 up. Miss Riddell and Mrs. Haldane, 2 up. Mrs. Hurdsfield and Miss Rathbone, 1 down. Mrs. Hewitt and - Mrs. Tareha, 2 down. Miss Moorhead and Miss Clark,' 3 down; Miss Speedy and -Miss A. Hobson, 3 down; Miss Schroder and Miss Hunter, 5 down; Miss Stables and Mrs. Williams, 6 down; Miss Rood and Miss Earp, 7 down.
