WOMEN'S INSTITUTES
Te Awapuni Meeting Tbe monthly meeting of Te Awapuni Wmnen's Institute was held in the G.F.S. room on Wednesday with ' a good1 attendance of members. Mrs. Lindsay Gordon preside'd, and welcomed visitors. After repeating tbe Creed, business relating to the fprthcoming council meeting in Napier was considered and discussed, and Mesdames Gordon and Campbell were elected delegates. The president also read a letter from Mrs Love, thanking the members for the very happy after- . noon she had spent at a meeting of Te Awapuni. - The competition was something made fronf wholemeal, and Mrs. Harper was first with scones,- and Mrs. Gordon second with a wholemeal- loaf . The bring-and-buy stall did brisk business. Mrs. Turner Williams continued her talk on England, and took her' listeners to many out-of-the-way spots, and describedt many old quaint customs that are still carried on' there. After tea was served, Mjss McHutoheon and the choir spent the rest of the afternoon in practising cboral singing.
