Encouraging Outlook for Coming Year

WAIPAWA, l^ast JNlght. The annual meeting of the Waipawa Business Girls' Club was' held . last evening. Miss E. Pellow presided. A resolution of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mrs, James Bibby, who had been president, was carried. The annual report stated that eleven evenings had been held during the winter in the form of a tea and. social Juur, lecturettes being aTranged from • time . to tim e. • The membership fee of 2/6 had proved adequate, the yeaT clo'sing with - a credit of 16/4, after purchase of small items. Donations totalling £1 6/9 were received. Thanks were expressed to the donors and also to donors of soup, cakes and other goods received for use of • the club. The various speakers were also thanked. Miss Pellow stated that the club liad jestified. the promoters' faith. and the outlook for the coming ; year was very encouraging. . The election , of officers resulted: Patrons, Mesdames C. G. Harker and L. H. MeHardy; president, Mrs. L. A. Swairi; seceteary, Miss E. Bott; committee, Misses A. Miller, M. MaeDonald, J. MeKay, D. Swain, E. Pellow and D. Talbot. After , discussion on the form of gathering for the ensuing year, it was resolved that the matter he left to the incoming committee, a questionnaire to be circulated among members. A special committee of Misses. Bott, Kingston, Miller, Limbrick, Pellow, Talbot and Tpnkin was set .up. to arrange an exhibit' for the Coronation Day' procession. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring officers for their services, to Miss E. Stewart, who was seeretary until • her departure from Waipawa, and to Mr. F. W. Holt, for his services as auditor.
