Payjment Fortnightly Wanted
From
WAIPUKURAU, This Day. "All members of the staff have had an increase in salary during the last few months, and now they want their wages paid fortnightly instead of monthly,'' 6aid th'e chairman of the Waipawa Hospital Board, Mr W. H. Rathbone, at the monthly " meeting of the board yesterday. Mr Rathbone said he did not kriow of any other board which was paying its staff fortnightly, but suggested that they should put the recommendation bfefore the Hospital Board's- Association for its consideration. "If this policy is adopted there will be a very considerable loss of time in the duplication of the work resultant upon a fortnightly conitputation of wages," he said. "It would mean that an officer wquld have to be employed on this work for a whole week, instead of the three. days, as at present." It was decided to act on Mr Rathbone's suggestion and place the recommendation before the Hospital Boards' Association for their consideration. Miss L. G. Hale, who has been on the secoadary staff of the Waipukurau High School for about 12 years, has resigned to take a position with the Morrinsville High School. Miss Hale will be leanng Waipukurau at the end of the present school term.
